Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
Hi, it's Yoko (@foodie_yoko), the gourmet hunter who lives in hotels! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
Today I'm introducing the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan, where I stayed over Golden Week!
This trip was five nights in Okinawa. Until the day before I'd been at the Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island, Okinawa, and before that I'd stayed three nights at Okinawa Kariyushi LCH.
Here's how Okinawa Kariyushi LCH was ↓
And here's the Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island, Okinawa ↓
Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan is the first Prince Hotel in Okinawa, and it's still new, having opened on April 12, 2022. It has my beloved sauna, so I went to shake off the fatigue of the trip!
Location of Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan is in Ginowan, about 30 minutes north of Naha Airport by car. Honestly, there isn't much sightseeing around the hotel, lol. But as the name says, every room has an ocean view! Plus you can see boats moored in Ginowan, so it's a harbor view too.
The beach isn't right in front of the hotel, but about a five-minute walk away is Tropical Beach, a pretty big one. The hotel has an infinity pool and a sauna inside, so you can use it like a city hotel too!
The lobby is spacious and open. Honestly, since it was the day after opening, I was worried about whether operations would run smoothly, but the cheerful, smiling staff guided us smoothly and efficiently, which was great!
The rooms at Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan
Let's head inside the hotel.

It's brand new, so the corridor is spotless. The key card is a cute color like a sunset sky.

This time I stayed on the club floor, so the room is generously laid out.
On the left as you enter are a luggage area and closet space. A robe hangs on a hanger, and the drawers hold loungewear and pajamas.

On the right, across from it, is the vanity. A full set of amenities is provided, including the same bath salts that were at The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa, which felt like a bonus. And the hair dryer is the latest Panasonic model! That was much appreciated!

The bathroom is on the left and the toilet on the right. So clean. The wet areas can be closed off with a large sliding door, so privacy is perfectly fine too.

The shampoo and so on were from an overseas brand called YUNI. The ingredients are gentle on the ocean, it's not tested on animals, and it seems to be silicone-free. Hotel shampoo is often cheap stuff bought in bulk, but this felt luxurious and the design was stylish, so it lifted my mood! Just what you'd expect from a Prince Hotel! Just what you'd expect from the club floor! Lol.
The bathroom lights are dimmable, too. I put in some bath salts and soaked, and with the lights dimmed, combined with the design of the wall, it felt like floating in the sea at night. It was a very relaxing bath.

Here's the bed. The pillow was pretty firm! Lol.
Still, this is a Prince Hotel. I'm sure they lend out things like foam pillows, so if it bothers you, just ask the front desk.
Across from the bed is the TV, which has a sliding door so you can hide it!!
I don't like how hotel TVs tend to dominate the room, so this was great.
I think I kept it closed almost the whole time. Lol.

There are outlets and USB sockets on both sides of the bed, which is very convenient.
In a twin room, if only one side has an outlet you end up fighting over it...
Though that shouldn't happen on the club floor of a Prince Hotel. Lol.

To the right of the TV is a bar counter. The kettle is a De'Longhi. The fridge is a stylish, quiet DOMETIC.
For drinks there's bottled mineral water (ultra-soft water from Minamiuonuma, Niigata), sanpin tea (Okinawan jasmine tea), and even Nespresso, the kind of machine that even stops a crying child! Some hotels have drip pods (UCC), but I personally prefer Nespresso.

There were wine glasses too. The hotel terrace has a table and chairs, so a glass of bubbly outside while looking out over Ginowan... sounds rather nice, doesn't it? Lol.
The pool at Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan

I'd finished exploring the room, so after lazing around on the sofa for a bit, I changed into the loungewear and headed to the pool!

There's a gym in front of the heated pool. It's small, but there were a few running machines.

This is the indoor heated pool. "Heated" might sound lukewarm, but this is properly hot water! Lol. Swimwear is required, so you can use it like a bath that men and women can enter together!
The sauna at Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan

The sauna is at the back of the heated pool.

After warming up in the dry sauna, I went to the cold plunge. It was 15 degrees, quite cold!!

There was also a mist sauna and an ice room, but I hardly used them. After the cold plunge I tried the ice room, and it felt lukewarm, lol. That's how cold the plunge was, lol.
The hotel had only been open for about two weeks, and it was near the end of Golden Week, so it was nearly empty!
Both the dry sauna and the mist sauna looked like they could fit around ten people.

The outdoor infinity pool! Because there's a road opposite, the view from the infinity pool at the club lounge was better, but this one is new and clean, and I loved that I had it to myself the whole time!

There were plenty of sofas and chairs, so I spent the time lounging around doing nothing. Lol.
Who Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan is for
Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan is especially recommended for people who want to enjoy both a pool and the sea without going far from Naha! It could work for couples, but the atmosphere is a bit casual, so I think it suits families with children better. It's also recommended for sauna lovers, since it has a proper sauna. Even if it rains, we have the sauna! Lol.
If Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan caught your interest, please go and see it for yourself!
