Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
It's Yoko, the gourmet hunter living in hotels, @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
I heard it's popular for girls' nights in Ginza, so I went to Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza!
There are actually two in Ginza, "Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza" and "Hotel Monterey Ginza." They're from the same hotel group, have similar names and aren't far apart, so you wonder which is better, and whether they're even different!
To find out, I went to Hotel Monterey Ginza the next day too. lol
I'll cover Hotel Monterey Ginza in a separate post, and this time I'll tell you about Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza!
↑For Hotel Monterey Ginza, see here!
Location of Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza
Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza is a one-minute walk from Ginza-itchome Station, with a convenience store very close by, so it's an extremely convenient base for sightseeing in Ginza.

Outside the hotel, the flag of the Italian restaurant "San Michele" on the first floor flutters in the wind.
Inside, rows of classic chairs suddenly appear, and it feels as if you've been teleported to France!

There's a sofa in front of the front desk, and beside it are Lalique perfume bottles made around the 1930s. I've been to the Lalique Museum in Hakone, so I'm happy to see Lalique's work in Tokyo!
After checking in and heading to the elevator hall, it's another huge dose of France! lol
There are sculptures on display, and the floor indicator on the elevator moves in a classic style! A chime sounds when you arrive.

Inside the elevator, the floor display also sweeps around with a whirr, which felt kind of heartwarming.
The room card key was a simple blue one like this.
The Room at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza
I walked down a pale blue corridor and into the room.

You insert the card key into a slot beside the door.

On the left as you enter are a closet and a luggage rack.
There's a full-length mirror beside it, too. The decorative part is so European. lol

Inside the closet were a deodorizer, hangers, a shoe brush, a shoehorn, shoe polish and slippers.

On the right is the bathroom area. Look at the Paris vibe!! lol
The walls and floor are covered entirely in blue and white tile.
Honestly, I think tile must be a pain to maintain.
If you drop something a bit hard, it cracks, right?
I was just thinking things like how hard the mirror and faucets must be to wipe down because of their shapes. lol
But it was cleaned beautifully. They really do a good job.
By the way, the shower head was a Mirable, which sprays the water as a fine mist.
The skincare was all from "Detaille la Maison," a French-feeling POLA brand. There was a full set: makeup remover, face wash, lotion and emulsion.

Further into the room, on the right in front of the bed, were a kettle and a hair dryer.
That's a fairly unusual spot for them. The hair dryer was a Salonia.
With a Salonia dryer, I wondered if they were going for a French feel and aiming at women guests.
And then the bed. Look at this Marie Antoinette feel!
The French pressure is intense.

On the left of the bed are a clock, a memo pad and a phone. I opened the door below, but there was nothing in particular inside.
Next to the bed is a desk. It had a mirror with a light, handy for putting on makeup, and a tissue box. The chair has a backrest, but it isn't cushioned, so it would be tough for long work sessions.

To the left of the desk is the TV. Complimentary mineral water was provided.

There's also a door under the TV, with the refrigerator inside.

There was an air purifier, though an older model. The loungewear was a two-piece set in a smooth, cotton-like fabric.
Breakfast at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza
On to breakfast the next day! It was a semi-buffet style where you choose your main (¥2,970).

This restaurant, "San Michele," serves Italian food, but the atmosphere is incredibly Parisian. lol
It's glass-walled like a greenhouse, bright with plenty of sunlight. It was raining that day, but on a sunny day the atmosphere would be lovely.
The cold drinks were peach smoothie, tomato juice, guava juice, orange juice, green vegetable mixed juice, drinking yogurt, milk and water.
There were labels showing whether allergens were included, which is helpful for people with allergies.

Hot drinks included tea, espresso, cafe au lait and coffee with whipped cream.
Actually, I only just noticed while writing this that there was coffee with whipped cream!
I wish I'd had it! Maybe I'll stay again.

The breads were cheese bread, toast, pain au chocolat and croissants. There was a toaster, so you can warm them up. The soup that came with the main was a watercress soup. It changes daily, and apparently some days it's minestrone.

The bread was fluffy and moist, and I slathered it with butter. lol
For my main I chose the omelette and the sauteed salmon. They were brought out while I was picking drinks and so on.

What made me happy was that you could get refills of things like the salad.
The cherry tomatoes served alongside were so delicious that I asked for 10 of them as a refill,
and out came a plate like a tomato field. lol
These cherry tomatoes are called "Petit Poyo," harvested in Saitama Prefecture and grown in coral sand and nutrient solution, which apparently boosts their ability to store sugars and lycopene.
They were just so sweet and delicious!

The salmon wasn't quite enough either, so I got a refill. The sauce was potato puree.
Dessert was a banana yogurt panna cotta. It had a flower on top and was so cute!
Who Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza Is Right For
The design of Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza, both in the hotel and in the rooms, is all about France and Paris, and it's really cute! I recommend it for people who love cute things and for girls' nights.
As for breakfast, it's less about eating until you're stuffed and more about a meal enjoyed carefully in a stylish space, so I think it's also good for couples.
You can feel like you've gone to France while staying in Ginza at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza. Please try it once for a little getaway feeling!
