Yokohama Bay Sheraton: A Stay Review

Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →

I'm Yoko, a hotel-dwelling gourmet hunter, @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.

I've come to the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers!

There are quite a lot of Marriott hotels in Tokyo alone, and there are some in Yokohama too.

The Yokohama Bay Sheraton opened on September 24, 1998, so it has been around for quite a while.

The Yokohama Bay Sheraton is right in front of Yokohama Station, a two-minute walk away.

It's a big hotel with a real presence.
Shinkansen trains stop at Yokohama Station too, so the convenience is outstanding.

A classic Christmas tree was set up in the lobby.
The building is 28 floors and big. The space is open up to the 3rd floor, which gives it an airy feel!

When I checked in, I was upgraded because I'm a Gold Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy! It's a Platinum floor, which looks nice.

The door has a solid, rich feel too.

The Rooms at the Yokohama Bay Sheraton

Walking into the room, a pretty spacious space opens up!

The closet is on the right and the bathroom area is on the left.

There were paper bags inside the closet. You'd expect to see them more often, but I rarely do.

But paper bags are handy, aren't they? Your luggage tends to grow one way or another.

The bathroom area feels a bit dated but is clean.

You can stretch your legs out in the bath, and the vanity area is wide and bright, so getting ready is easy!

The towels have the Sheraton "S" logo and are nice and heavy.

I checked, and there were bath salts and lotion too!

Across from the bathroom area is a cabinet with a refrigerator and other items.

On top of the cabinet are a Drip Pod and mineral water.

The Drip Pod is like a UCC version of Nespresso, and it can make tea as well as coffee.

Inside the cabinet is a full set of glasses, teacups, a pot and so on.

What's more, unusually, there are even plates, forks and spoons, which is impressive.

Plates are handy when you buy something outside and eat it in the room.

The fridge had apple juice, orange juice, green tea, sparkling water, Pepsi, Pepsi Zero, Heineken, Kirin Ichiban Shibori and wine. (Paid.)

The loungewear was in the drawer at the far left of the cabinet. The logos were different colors, so I think there are two sizes.

The bed is spacious, with a desk on each side. The digital clock isn't noisy, and there are outlets.

From the window I could see Yokohama Station close by. There was also a big desk with a leather chair, so working doesn't wear you out.

On the desk were the in-room dining menu, alcohol sanitizing wipes and so on.

By the way, as a perk of the plan this time, I got a ticket for shumai (steamed dumplings) from the long-established Chinatown restaurant Daichinro.

When I handed the ticket to the front desk, I received frozen shumai! There were 6 in a pack, and each one is quite big. My parents were visiting, so I sent them home with them as a souvenir.

Who the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers Is Good For

It's right next to Yokohama Station, so it's definitely convenient for a stay the day before or after you take the Shinkansen from Yokohama Station.

Also, I'll write about it in another article, but this hotel puts a lot of effort into its buffet.

Staying just for the buffet is a fine reason, too!

If you're curious, go stay there!
