Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
It's Yoko, a gourmet hunter who lives in hotels. @foodie_yoko I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
This time I went to Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo!
I have a feeling I visited Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo a long, long time ago. I probably used the cafe.
I didn't realize back then that this was a Sheraton, but this time I stayed for the first time as part of my Marriott Platinum Challenge, and I learned that it's a hotel I recommend for the autumn leaves season!
I'll explain more about that later.
Location of Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo
1-1-50 Shirokanedai, Minato-ku, Tokyo 108-8640
03-3447-3111
The nearest stations are Shirokanedai or Shirokane-Takanawa, a five-minute walk.
It's also a 10-minute taxi ride from Shinagawa Station. It's far from the busy downtown areas and in a very quiet spot, so I recommend it if you want a peaceful stay.

When you enter the lobby, a lovely Christmas tree greets you. Further in is the cafe I visited long ago.
Through the big windows at the back you can see the green of the woods and the autumn leaves!
That's right, Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo has a large garden.
This cafe is a lovely spot for tea while looking out at the garden's greenery.

Hotels have all sorts of Christmas tree designs, and the one at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo is a classic color scheme, and chic.
Together with the garden, you get a double treat!
The lobby at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo

The lobby has a computer corner where you can do a bit of work. The chairs are proper ones, the sturdy kind you'd find in an office that look like they support your lower back!

There was a printer and more, so it could be really useful if you have serious work to do before or after check-in.
By the way, there was quite a line at check-in! It's a popular hotel, so I recommend allowing plenty of time for check-in!
The room at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo
After somehow getting through check-in, I headed to my room.
I didn't have much luggage, but after check-in it seems that a porter is basically called to carry your bags. I was able to go to my room empty-handed.

Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo has guest rooms from the 2nd to the 12th floor, and including two basement levels it's 14 floors in all.
It isn't very tall, more of a wide, spread-out hotel.

My assigned room was 454.

The room card key is the insert type.

Open the door and a short corridor appears. The end of it is a closet.

Turn the corner and it opens into the room. Open the door on the left for the bathroom area.
Honestly, it shows its age, but it's been cleaned very well.

I got the impression that the bathtub and shower head area had been renovated recently!
The amenities are plentiful. A birch-scented bath additive makes me happy lol

Back in the room, along the right-hand wall, the Nespresso machine, fridge and luggage area are grouped together.
The fridge is packed full. Everything in it is for a fee!
The luggage area holds a safe and loungewear.

The desk is round but big, so there's plenty of workspace. The chair has a back, so I think you won't tire easily even working for hours. Above all, the garden is right in front of you, so you can work while resting your eyes, which is wonderful!

This is the view from the front. Open the curtains all the way and a spectacular view spreads out...!
What do you think of this view...!!

You can see it quite well from the desk, too.

There's also a small table by the window (with mineral water), so you can have tea while enjoying the autumn leaves.
Facilities at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo
By the way, there's a pool too.

This is the pool entrance. It's in the basement but quite spacious, and there's a gym as well. I think the pool is 25 m.
There's a jacuzzi in the pool area too. The whole place shows its age, but it's very roomy.
A room on the "Premium Floor" at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo
When I got back to my room from the pool, a few things happened and I ended up moving to another room.
I was assigned a room on the 9th floor. The 9th floor is a "Premium Floor".

Right out of the elevator there's a corridor with a completely different design!
Apparently all rooms on the 9th and 10th floors were renovated in 2019. No wonder it's so shiny.

The corridor is bright too, and the atmosphere is totally different.

My assigned room was 954. The lock is the same as the first room, a card key you insert.

Inside, there's once again a little corridor. It's spacious.
Turn the corner and the bathroom area is on the right.

The vanity and toilet are in the same space, but it's bright and clean!
Best of all, the bathroom is cool! The stone walls look sharp, and since it has a separate washing area it feels roomy.
The lighting is slightly dim, so you can bathe in a calm mood.

At the bathroom entrance there's even a fill function for the bathtub, so you can run the bath with one switch...!

The amenities differ slightly from the room on the 4th floor.
The birch-scented bath additive is the same, but the body soap and so on are all Mikimoto.
Toothbrushes and the like come in a box, which feels very much like a premium floor room.

The bed is big. It's hard to tell from the photo, but right next to the bed there's a sliding door that leads to a closet.
When I put on sneakers I tend to sit on the bed to use a shoehorn,
and since this room is spacious, having the closet beside the bed was convenient.
Across from the bed are a sofa, a round table and chair, and the fridge and luggage area.
The fridge has quite a lot in it, and wine glasses are set out too.

Mineral water and Nespresso are free. The kettle was tucked away looking rather lonely lol

The TV has hotel information and more.
The Japanese garden is a whopping 1,800 tsubo!
By the way, the garden is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., so it's a spot you'll definitely want to visit during your stay.

This is the view from the window of the premium floor room.

Going from the 4th floor I was first assigned to the 9th, the height changes so that you look down on the garden, and neighboring buildings come into view too. If you want to feel immersed in the garden, I recommend a lower floor.
Who Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo is good for
Shinagawa Station is reasonably close, so I think it's convenient for a stay before or after taking the Shinkansen.
The porters carry your bags, and for a big hotel the hospitality is solid, so it's a hotel I can recommend with confidence even to older guests.
And as for timing, autumn leaves season is by far the best.
If you're curious, please go check it out!!
