S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
Yoko here, hotel-dwelling gourmet hunter @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
This time I came to S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki!
In December, while working my way up to Marriott Platinum status, I pulled a brutal stunt: 15 nights in a row, checking into a different hotel each night across Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. My body is now a wreck...
I wanted to stay put in one hotel for a while... but cheaply. That search led me to S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki.

Honestly, S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki isn't in a very convenient location.
It's about a 6-minute walk from Suitengumae Station and about 11 minutes from Ningyocho Station.
An expressway runs nearby, and there aren't many restaurants. But it's very quiet during the day, and it's close to the highway bus stop, the Tokyo City Air Terminal (T-CAT).
The lobby of S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki
The exterior is compact and gives a cool impression.

Inside the lobby there's a Christmas tree, small but there.

There's also a place to sit, so you can pass the time here while your room is being cleaned or before check-in.
Rooms at S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki
This time I was assigned a room on the 8th floor!

The whole hotel is done in gray, which gives it a chic feel.
There's a card slot in the room, and the lights come on when you insert your key card.
To the right of the door there's space to hang clothes.

When you enter, there's a mirror and luggage space on the left, and the bathroom area on the right.
The bathroom area is compact but clean!

There's sweet-smelling body soap, plus shampoo and conditioner.
There are also basic amenities like a cup and toothbrush, and hand and face wash.

The key point is the hair dryer! In rooms this compact you usually get the smallest Panasonic dryer, but here it's a medium-size KOIZUMI one with a bit more power.
It isn't in a bag and it stands up on its own, so you can grab it with no fuss, which I love!

Right outside the bathroom door is the table.
Around the table are a sorting trash bin (a quietly appreciated touch), a fridge (hard to see, but there's a small one under the table), a desk lamp, a mug and glass, tissues, a clock, a phone and more: all the bare essentials are properly there! That's another big plus!

The room isn't very bright, so the desk lamp's light is really welcome. And without a phone you can't contact the front desk at all (to ask for extra towels, request a cleaning time, discuss changing rooms, or be told a package has arrived), so having a phone is fantastic.

There was a massage flyer on the desk for a massage shop that had been featured on the TV show "Ad Machi Tokyo" (a Japanese neighborhood-guide show). I'd been so curious about it and really wanted to book, but in the end I didn't lol
Next time I stay, I'd like to try the massage.
The fridge is under the desk, so your legs get in the way when you take things out, but even though it's small it has a shelf and room for drinks in the door, so I was glad to have it. The noise didn't bother me much either.

This is the view toward the door when you lie on the bed and sit up. The air conditioner and TV face this way. The TV isn't very big. There's an air purifier too.
There's an outlet by the pillow on the bed, so you can sleep while charging your devices.

The loungewear was the standard white one-piece type. The view from the window differs a bit between the expressway side and the opposite side, but looks like this. You might notice glances from the apartment building next door? But there's a screen curtain, so closing it takes care of that.
My one concern about the room is that the walls seem a little thin, including the road noise from outside the window. You sometimes hear conversations from the next room, so be aware if that bothers you.
Breakfast at S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki
Because of COVID, breakfast was served as a bento box!

There was a breakfast notice posted in the elevator and it looked delicious, so I ordered it.

It's ¥800 with a bottle of Oi Ocha green tea. Not a bad price lol
It had takikomi gohan (seasoned mixed rice), grilled fish, grilled chicken, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), hijiki seaweed and more.
Personally I was happy that it had plenty of protein!
As far as I know, breakfast is still served as a bento, so give it a try if you're curious.
Facilities at S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki
There's a coin laundry, and a Georgia coffee machine in the first-floor lobby. Depending on your plan, you get one free cup from this machine as a welcome drink!
Who S-Peria Inn Nihonbashi Hakozaki Is Good For
I especially recommend it if you want to stay as cheaply as possible, still want the basics, and want somewhere you can stay a long time! There are plenty of rooms for solo travelers, and I think it's the best-value hotel in this area. If you're curious, definitely give it a try!
