Hotel Gracery Tamachi: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
I'm Yoko, a gourmet hunter who lives in hotels, @foodie_yoko. I spend 365 days a year living in hotels and eating out.
After checking out of the Tamachi hotel Pullman Tokyo Tamachi, I came to stay at Hotel Gracery Tamachi. Hotel Gracery is run by Fujita Kanko Inc. under the name WHG HOTELS! Among Fujita Kanko's hotel brands, it's in the somewhat upscale category.
Incidentally, even more luxurious hotels than Hotel Gracery, such as "Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo," "Hakone Kowakien Tenyu," and "Hakone Kowakien Yunessun" are also Fujita Kanko hotels!

It's a 6-minute walk from Tamachi Station. The area around Hotel Gracery Tamachi is lined with buildings and is calm.

The streets around the hotel are lined with trees, and the atmosphere is bright and pleasant.
At check-in, as a WHG HOTELS member, I got a present for being a repeat guest! To my delight, I received a Weider in Jelly (an energy jelly drink).

I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor, the Ladies' floor!
In the elevator, you tap your room card key and the button for your assigned floor lights up, then you press it again to confirm.
Also, before you enter the corridor lined with rooms there's another layer of security, and you can't get in without tapping your card.

I unlocked the corridor entrance and arrived at my assigned room, 214. The corridor is bright, with calm lighting that makes it cozy.

Let's go into the room.

There's an entryway, so it's the kind of room where you take off your shoes and relax!
Inside the room are all sorts of items, starting with a low desk and low chair like at a manga cafe. A bathroom scale, air purifier, luggage storage, massage cushion, TV, lighted makeup mirror, and more: lots of items that women will love!

On the desk there are also a notepad, an accessory tray, and more, more than enough items. The desk surface is leather-look with a nice bit of give, so it was pleasant to work at.
Behind the desk there's a low bed, so you can lie down right away (so lazy, lol).

At the bedside there's a dimmable light switch and a phone charging cable. The cable looks short, but it stretches, lol
There's a window between the bed and the desk. The Tokyo Monorail runs above and a river flowing to Tokyo Bay below, but it's an office district and the room is well soundproofed, so it's quite quiet.

At the foot of the bed is the door to the bathroom area and a shelf with the refrigerator and other items.
On the shelf were a face steamer, an iron, an electric kettle, paper cups, and coffee, and the refrigerator had mineral water inside!
By the way, the Hotel Gracery brand uses paper cups, and I've always wished they would switch to regular ceramic mugs!
I've stayed at more than 100 hotels so far, and only 2 or 3 of them had paper cups.
Sometimes the paper cup is wrapped in plastic, which I'm sure is very hygienic, but it creates extra trash, and hot drinks are hot to hold. I understand it saves the cost of washing cups, but if anyone from Fujita Kanko is reading this, please consider it!
(I hope the paper cups are just a temporary COVID measure...)

The bathroom area is spacious and roomy.
The door is made of some kind of metal like stainless steel, slides sideways, and is heavy. It's very sturdy, like a hospital door. Maybe to keep sound from leaking out?
A whole row of DHC lotions and other products means you won't run short of amenities.
The hair dryer is a large Panasonic ionic model. It has strong airflow, so it's easy to use.

The bathtub isn't very wide, but I think it's roomy enough for a woman. The shower head is big, too. The loungewear was a white two-piece set, so you can change just the bottoms before bathing.

During my stay I had my room changed once, and the new one was on the opposite side from the monorail. It got more sunlight, and I could see greenery outside the window, which was beautiful! It was like borrowed scenery.
Facilities at Hotel Gracery Tamachi
I went exploring inside the hotel.

On the 2nd floor there's a coin laundry and a lounge just for guests.
Hotel Gracery Tamachi has 200 rooms but only one washer and one dryer, so in high season there may be competition for them, lol
Next to the coin laundry there was also an ice machine.

The lounge is quite luxurious, about 80 square meters.
There's a microwave too, so use it if you need to heat something.
Who Hotel Gracery Tamachi is good for
At Hotel Gracery Tamachi, you can take your shoes off in the room, there are amenities and handy items, and there's a lounge, so it's a hotel for a step-up stay, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a place more relaxing than the usual business hotel!
If you're curious, do go and stay!!
