The Club Lounge at Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan

It's Yoko, the hotel-dwelling gourmet hunter, @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.

I stayed at the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan at the end of Golden Week. Since I stayed on the Club Floor, I used the club lounge!

For the Club Floor rooms, see here:

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge Overview

The club lounge of the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan, "UMIKAJI", is on the 14th floor of the hotel! (The Club Floor guest rooms are on floors 12 to 14.)

Our room was on the 13th floor, so getting to the club lounge was easy.

There's a reception-like spot at the lounge entrance, but nobody asked us anything.
I guess it's because the hotel elevators limit which floors your key card can stop at.

As you enter the lounge, there's sofa seating on the left. The green and pink wallpaper is so cute!

On the right are table seats, with a harbor view and ocean view!
If the weather is nice, you can watch the sunset from the lounge while having a drink.

Ceiling fans spin overhead in the lounge, and watching the sun go down was beautiful.

The lounge is open from morning to night, so you can stay forever eating and drinking, lol.

Club lounge hours
Breakfast 7:00-11:00

Tea time 11:00-17:00

Cocktail time 17:00-19:00

Bar time 19:00-22:00

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge: Food and Drinks (Tea Time)

It's not very big, but there are finger foods, various drinks, snacks and more.

Soft drinks and beer
Evian, ginger ale, Coca-Cola, sparkling water, tonic water, mango juice, guava juice, acai juice, apple juice, orange juice, Suntory All-Free (non-alcoholic beer), Orion Beer, Kirin Ichiban Shibori, coffee, tea, cafe au lait, cocoa, matcha latte

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but unlimited Orion Beer and Ichiban Shibori must be pretty much heaven for beer lovers!?

I can't drink much, so I had things like ginger ale and acai juice!

As for the food...

Finger foods
Smoked salmon and avocado tortilla, bacon and chicken tortilla, mixed sandwiches
Sweets
Kugani egg brown sugar pudding, Okinawa blue stripe jelly, couverture chocolate, strawberry roll cake, brown sugar warabimochi (bracken-starch mochi), mini cream puffs

Maybe because it was tea time, there wasn't a big variety of finger foods.

There weren't many guests, so everything was laid out with plenty of space, lol.

The sweets are all mini size, which is great for someone like me who wants to try everything, lol.

Liqueurs and spirits
White wine, red wine, umeshu (plum wine), mojito, gin, vodka, cassis, Campari, passion fruit syrup, grenadine syrup and more.
Snacks
Island pork jerky, mimiga (pig ear) jerky, beer nuts, Kataage Potato in Okinawan shikuwasa flavor

I love Kataage Potato (a hard-fried potato chip brand), so I was happy to see it, lol.

For alcohol, the staff at the counter also served me sparkling wine and so on.

There was even a machine that pours wine automatically (without letting air into the wine), so it was properly done!

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge Pool

After browsing the food and drinks, off to the pool outside the lounge!

There are sofas and benches by the pool too, so you can eat there.

By the way, the lounge has restrooms but no changing room, and no towels are provided.

So if you want to swim as well as eat at the lounge, wear your swimsuit under your hotel loungewear in your room and bring a bath towel from your room.

It was the latter half of Golden Week with few guests, and it was a private pool only Club Floor guests can use, so we had it almost to ourselves!

There's a jacuzzi at the near end of the pool and something like a couple's seat near the middle.

The jacuzzi water is quite hot, and it was a hot day, so I couldn't stay in, lol.

So we did nothing in particular, just ate sandwiches and lounged around looking at the infinity pool.

A little swim, then more lounging. The best.

It was so hot that if you didn't eat the cake right away it warmed up and went gooey. No time for leisurely photos, lol.

But the pool and the sea in the distance were clear and blue, truly beautiful!

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge Cocktail Time

We went back to the Club Floor a little after 5 pm.

The drinks were the same but the food had changed a bit!

Cocktail time food
Smoked salmon with capers, house-made Agu pork rillettes, colorful vegetable pickles, cheese assortment, pate de campagne, duck confit with potatoes sarladaise, smoked duck pintxos

After the sun goes down, the atmosphere changes again and gets moody.

It has a calm, grown-up atmosphere.

I had the pate de campagne, duck confit with potatoes sarladaise and smoked duck pintxos. The duck topped with strawberry was really delicious!

After that we had dinner and came back to the lounge for bar time, but the food hadn't changed, so we went back to our room, lol.

Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge Breakfast

After having breakfast at the restaurant on the 1st floor, I came to see what breakfast in the club lounge is like.

The salad options are quite good.

Breakfast food
Green smoothie, Okinawan mozuku seaweed with shikuwasa vinegar, yogurt punch, colorful vegetable salad, potato salad, carrot shirishiri (Okinawan stir-fried carrot), jimami tofu (peanut tofu)

Besides the same pudding as the day before, there was yogurt and an assorted fruit plate.

The drinks were the same as yesterday. I was already full from breakfast at JINON on the 1st floor, so I only had the taro (taimo) cocotte gratin! The taro was a bit dry and crumbly.
I'd expected a sticky texture like Japanese taro, so it was a surprise.

By the way, the lounge cutlery was from BELO INOX, a long-established Portuguese brand, and it was beautiful and sturdy!

I looked reluctantly at the beautiful morning harbor view and left the lounge.

Who the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan Club Lounge Is For

The club lounge of the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan is recommended for foodies and anyone who loves terraces!

Compared with club lounges at other hotels, the food and drinks are quite good, and the sea seen from the lounge pool was far prettier than from the 2nd-floor pool!

As for the view, since the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan stands along a road, from the lounge terrace you look down at the road, but the infinity pool and the sea look like one continuous view, which is pretty.

The food and drinks are as described in this article, and I think they're nicely balanced.

The club lounge of the Okinawa Prince Hotel Ocean View Ginowan, available only to Club Floor guests, is well worth experiencing!
