Moxy Kyoto Nijo: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
It's Yoko, the hotel-living gourmet hunter, @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
This time I came to Moxy Kyoto Nijo! (Stay number 3 of my Marriott Platinum status run.)
It's my first time staying at the Moxy in Kyoto, and it gives off a party vibe that's very un-Kyoto, lol
Moxy Kyoto Nijo Lobby
There was a teddy bear in the lobby.

A bear sitting and staring at the floor.
Does he look a little lonely, or is it just me...?

This is the lobby. It's big! There's an area lined with comfy-looking sofas.

First, check-in. Again, not at all what you'd expect from a front desk. It has a party feel.

Yes, as usual it's the Moxy style where the front desk and bar counter are one.
There was a cute record player.

This zone looks good for working.
It isn't quiet, though, so meetings might be tough.

A corner where drinks are sold.
There are all sorts of chairs, which is cute.
Moxy Kyoto Nijo Room

This time I had room 514.

The bathroom area is on the left.
As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I was given drink tickets.

The key card has the reliably party-people design.

The shower booth has a rain shower.
I appreciate that mineral water is provided.

The bed is nice and wide.
Personally, I like this kind of layout!

I like that you can watch TV by just sitting up in bed.
There was also a lantern on the wall.

The loungewear is a dress-style one made of waffle fabric, and it's comfortable to wear.

The bedside has outlets and USB ports, so you can charge your phone and still have the alarm go off right by your ear.

There is a desk, though a basic one. I think the lantern is meant to sit here. Space-wise, it's better for a little bit of work than long work sessions.
Moxy Kyoto Nijo Facilities
I explored the inside of Moxy Kyoto Nijo.

This is a gym that's open 24 hours! The entrance has illustrations on it and looks so pop. It's by reservation.

Resistance bands, dumbbells, treadmills and more. It's pretty well equipped!
They even play high-energy workout music, lol

There's also a drum-type washing machine.

After exploring everything, I went back to the front desk and ordered my welcome drink.
I chose a cocktail called "Kyo de Tropical."

They bring the drink to your seat when it's ready.
I waited for a while, with the bears flaunting their cuddling in front of me...

Ta-da! Moxy's signature cocktail, "Kyo de Tropical."
There are four signature cocktails in all, so it's fun to choose by taste.
Who Moxy Kyoto Nijo Is Good For
Moxy Kyoto Nijo is ideal for a stay with a partner or a few friends!
There's no bathtub, only a shower booth, and the desk is basic, so I think it's better for sightseeing than for work, and better for couples than for families.
If you're curious, definitely give it a try!
