Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba: A Stay Review

Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →

It's Yoko, the gourmet hunter living in hotels, @foodie_yoko! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.

This was stay number eight on my Marriott Platinum run, and I went to Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba!

"Fairfield" is a mid-range brand among Marriott hotels. I'd say it's more formal than Moxy and on a par with Courtyard.

It's a hotel that's neither too fancy nor too casual.

Location of Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

2-3-25 Motomachi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Osaka 556-0016

With "Namba" in the name, it's conveniently located, five or six minutes from Namba Station.

The Lobby of Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

The lobby was decorated with a Christmas tree! There are also plenty of sofas.

There was also a corner where you can buy microwave meals, ice cream, alcoholic drinks and more.

There's also a big coworking space (paid), which is handy if you want to work.

Next to the shop is an area where you can have water or coffee.

I was meeting a friend in Kyoto that evening, so I checked in quickly. Breakfast is a continental breakfast, with bread, yogurt and brownies, plus a main you choose between an omelette or risotto.

Continental Breakfast
A continental breakfast generally means a breakfast made mostly of cold items, with no cooking involved! (Continental = European style.) It's common at casual-style hotels. If you're not that hungry today and want something light, a continental breakfast is a good choice.

The Room at Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

I was assigned room 826. The corridor is bright and spacious.

On the left as you enter, the safe, refrigerator and other items are grouped together.

By the way, I prefer the fridge to be far from the bed!

Sometimes the sound it makes keeps me from sleeping. lol (I'm sensitive...)

The washbasin sits right in the middle of the room, an open-vanity style. This kind of layout gives you more usable space, which is nice.

The door on the left leads to the toilet, and the shower booth is visible at the back. On the right wall are hangers for your clothes.

On the washbasin are a few amenities. The hair dryer is a mid-size Panasonic. The mirror has a light, which is handy for makeup!

The bath is a shower booth with no tub, but it has a rain shower. The booth floor is the same color as the room floor, so it looks continuous with the room and feels bigger.

The bed is roomy and wide, and comfortable to sleep in! There's also a sofa beside it where you can stretch out your legs.

The view from the window is nothing special. You can see the neighboring building quite close by.

You can watch TV lying on the bed. The bathroom area and the bedroom can be separated by a door!

Loaner Items at Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

What I found interesting was the loaner items. You can check the list on the TV, and it includes hand massagers, neck massagers, cushion massagers, facial steamers, and even Islamic prayer sets you can borrow...

For tired business travelers, being able to borrow massage devices is a real blessing!

For Muslim visitors from overseas, having a prayer set available might even make their luggage more compact!?

Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

Judging by the room layout, there's no desk, so it's better suited to sightseeing. But there's a coworking space, so you can work there and use it for meetings too.
I think it's good for people who like to switch gears between room and work.

I also recommend it for people who want to head to Namba quickly and for those who want to soothe their fatigue with massage devices!

If you're curious, please go check it out!
