Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station: A Stay Review

Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →

Hi, it's Yoko (@foodie_yoko), the gourmet hunter who lives in hotels! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.

After finishing my Marriott Platinum run in Kyoto and Osaka, I started the Tokyo leg of the run.

For my first Tokyo stay, I chose Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station!

Location of Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station

2-1-3 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0031
03-3516-9600

It's only a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station! The streets around the hotel are flat, so it should be convenient to use before or after taking the Shinkansen!

The lobby of Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station

Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station is part of an office building, and floors 5 to 21 are offices.

The hotel occupies floors 1 to 4.
The hotel lobby is on the 4th floor.

In the lobby, Marriott Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador Elite members can get snacks and the like.

I was still a Gold Elite member, so I only got coffee.

The lighting in the lobby creates a calm atmosphere, and sofas of all shapes are lined up.

Apparently the floor can be partitioned and used for parties and the like.

So stylish! At check-in, they gave me gifts such as bath salts.

Facilities at Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station

The hotel facilities are a restaurant and a gym.

There's a restaurant called Dining & Bar LAVAROCK on the 1st floor and a gym on the 3rd floor.

The room at Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station

After checking in, I headed to my room.

When I got off on the 2nd floor where my room was, there was another automatic door between the elevator hall and the corridor.

The corridor carpet is rainbow-colored?! So colorful!

My room was 220. I was upgraded from a single to a twin room.

The hotel opened on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, so it's fairly dated, but it's kept nicely clean.

The interior is monotone and fairly dark.

There's a sofa and table by the window where you can relax.

The wet areas are near the room entrance.

The bathroom is roomy. You can stretch your legs out in the tub.
The body soap and so on were from POLA.

The amenities range from razors to hair ties, and the selection was impressively complete.
The TV might be a little small for the size of the room.

The bed isn't very wide but is comfortable to sleep in. The loungewear is a one-piece style.

One thing that bothered me: the door hiding the fridge was oddly sturdy. Lol.
It's a double door with an iron lock, and I couldn't figure out how to open it, so I had to call someone from the front desk. Lol.

I found mineral water in the fridge!
The fridge was a bit loud when running, so be careful if that bothers you.

The window has a screen curtain.

The view is of the neighboring building under construction, a bit bleak. Lol.

But the building is far enough away that it doesn't feel oppressive, which was good.

The front desk gave me several other gifts too, so let's open them.

Disinfecting tissues, cookies, okaki (rice crackers) and manju (sweet buns)!

This is the first hotel that has ever given me so many gifts, before or since. Lol.

Who Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station is for

I think the main point of Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station is being close to Tokyo Station. That makes it convenient to stay before boarding or after arriving on the Shinkansen.

Among Marriott hotels, it isn't that expensive, so I think it's a good choice for a Marriott Platinum run too!

There are also room types with a proper desk for working, so you can use it for anything from sightseeing to business trips!
