Nohga Hotel Akihabara: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
I'm Yoko, the hotel-dwelling gourmet hunter! I live in hotels and eat out 365 days a year.
I'm currently wandering around Akihabara.
Today I'm introducing Nohga Hotel Akihabara, where I stayed the other day.
The concept of Nohga Hotel Akihabara is "art, music and food," and you can feel the care put into all three throughout the hotel.
Getting to Nohga Hotel Akihabara

It's about a 6-minute walk from Akihabara Station to Nohga Hotel Akihabara. Though it's in a busy district, it's quiet at night and there's a convenience store nearby, so it's very practical. Being able to head out and play right from the hotel really matters.
The Lobby of Nohga Hotel Akihabara

The 1st floor of Nohga Hotel Akihabara is a restaurant-cum-lobby called PIZZERIA & BAR NOHGA, and you can also enter the building through the entrance of Pizzeria & Bar Nohga, diagonally opposite the front entrance!

At first I ended up at Pizzeria & Bar Nohga.
But it looked like a restaurant, so I was confused about whether it was the hotel entrance, and a Nohga Hotel staff member came out and said, "You can come in this way too!"
I wanted to take a photo of the front entrance with the Nohga Hotel logo, so I ended up going around to the front side anyway, but how kind!
The restaurant and hotel provide service as one, and it was very comfortable :)
The Front Desk at Nohga Hotel Akihabara
After checking in, I took the elevator to the 2nd floor, where the front desk is.

In front of the front desk, there's a display of rental bicycles from tokyobike, and items used at Nohga Hotel Akihabara are on sale.
Since it was my first stay at Nohga Hotel Akihabara, I carefully wrote my name and so on to check in.
By the way, this ballpoint pen is the brass pen "TETZBO" from a stationery shop called Kakimori in Kuramae. It has a nice weight, and it's small, so it fit my hand well.
I usually find signing at check-in over in a moment, or even a bother, but a pen of memorable quality moved me right from the start...
I was also given a medal that can be exchanged for a welcome drink. So stylish!

On the front desk counter there was also a list of items available to borrow.
- Plug adapter
- Hair iron
- Thermometer
- Nail clippers
- Deodorizing spray
- Wine opener
If you tell the front desk, they'll hand you amenities and so on.
The basic skincare set was from a brand called OSAJI.

This OSAJI, by the way, has a cool greenwood-type scent and leaves your skin moisturized, which feels really nice. The packaging is cool too, so I'd like to use it every day or give it as a gift. You can buy it next to the front desk.

In the center of the same floor there's an atrium with a courtyard!
There's a foosball table, so you can play while you drink.
I didn't use it, but there was a gym too.

Nohga Hotel Akihabara is so stylish inside that I can barely get to describing the room, lol
The music in the elevator and in the building is seamlessly connected (the same music plays).
The stylish speakers used in the elevator are from a Japanese maker called Taguchi.
The hallways have a calm brightness and are elegant. Also, you can't hear any sound from the rooms at all.
Nohga Hotel Akihabara Double Room

This time I stayed in the double room, number 904. Just inside on the left are hangers, a shoehorn and so on.
The double room has an out-of-bathroom basin style, with the washbasin diagonally ahead on the right.

Open the door on the left and you'll find the toilet, and next to it the shower booth.
The shampoo, conditioner and body soap are all OSAJI.
Look at this stylish lighting, isn't it great?

Here's the room itself. The building across the way is far enough that you don't worry about people looking in, and the solid sofa and marble-look table are stylish.

Sitting on the sofa, there's a big TV opposite, and below it are a speaker, a kettle and so on. The speaker supports Bluetooth, so you can listen to your favorite music in the room :)
You can close the door between the room and the washbasin, so soundproofing is perfect.

The tea is from Maruyo Chaya in Shizuoka Prefecture. The robe is from ATMOSPHÈRE JAPON.
Honestly, every single item is just too lovely.
I want to introduce them properly, so I'll do that in a separate article...

Breakfast is of course served at the restaurant too, and it seems you can enjoy kiln-baked focaccia and egg dishes like omelets.
Unfortunately I didn't use it this time, so I hung the Do Not Disturb card and slept in.
The Do Not Disturb card is also a vinyl record, and so stylish it takes your breath away...
Facilities at Nohga Hotel Akihabara
As I mentioned at the start, there's a gym, a restaurant, a retail corner and a foosball corner. There's no coin laundry, but there's a laundry service (water wash only), and it seems you can request it for about ¥3,000 for a few kilograms.
Services at Nohga Hotel Akihabara

The medal you receive at check-in gets you one welcome drink.
You could choose alcohol, so I went with sparkling wine! There were all kinds of snacks too.
Nohga Hotel Akihabara Summary
- Concept of art, music and food
- Stylish interior
- Rooms stocked with items from local craftspeople
- Gym and restaurant!
- Services like a welcome drink, basic skincare set and mineral water
So, Nohga Hotel Akihabara is my top pick of the year, to the point that if it had a coin laundry I could probably live here for about a month.
If you haven't stayed yet, you're probably missing out a little! (Okay, that's an exaggeration.)
If you're especially into stylish things, please go!
(It's a super popular hotel right now, so booking early is wise.)
