Aloft Tokyo Ginza: A Stay Review
Translated from my original Japanese post (2022). 日本語の原文を読む →
I'm Yoko, a gourmet hunter who lives in hotels, @foodie_yoko. I spend 365 days a year living in hotels and eating out.
This time I came to "Aloft Tokyo Ginza"!
This brings my Marriott Platinum status run to an end...
Checking in and out for 15 nights across Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto was harder than I imagined, lol
By the way, right next to Aloft Tokyo Ginza stand the eldest and second sons of the "Ginza Marriott three brothers," "Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Ginza" and "AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza", side by side, so they're great for hotel hopping during a Marriott Platinum run, lol
Here's what breakfast at Aloft Ginza looks like! ↓
Location of Aloft Tokyo Ginza
6-14-3 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061
03-6278-8122
It's a very convenient location, 1 minute on foot from Higashi-ginza Station and 3 minutes from Ginza Station.

Aloft Tokyo Ginza opened on October 1, 2020.
It is the first Aloft brand hotel in Japan.
Outside the hotel there's a big, pop logo, and the interior is colorful. Among the Marriott hotels nicknamed the "Ginza Marriott three brothers," Aloft Tokyo Ginza is the youngest sibling in terms of vibe.
The lobby at Aloft Tokyo Ginza

If nobody told you it was a hotel, you might take it for a cute cafe!
There are sofas of all sizes, colors, and shapes, and even a long table where you could work.

A large, three-dimensional display hangs from the ceiling, showing colorful digital art.
There are mysterious objects too, and the mood is fun, as if someone tipped over a toy box!

Since it was that time of year, there was a Christmas tree too. There's also a spot where you can restock amenities such as water, slippers, and coffee.

Projection mapping plays on the elevator hall walls.
The elevator hall on the upper floor with the restaurant was designed like a giant clock. An elevator hall usually has nothing more than a vase of flowers, but with a moving piece of art, waiting for the elevator isn't a chore.

Inside the elevator, you tap your key card and the button for your assigned floor is pressed automatically, which is handy! The elevator was lit with a suspicious purple-pink light, lol

This is the 10th-floor elevator hall. The design is relentlessly edgy.

I arrived at my assigned room, 1007. After the high-impact design of the lobby and elevators, the corridor was quite plain.
The room at Aloft Tokyo Ginza

When you enter the room, there's a corner on the left with hangers, slippers, and so on.
The hair dryer is a Vidal Sassoon, a high-power one.
There was even a garment steamer.

The slippers have the Aloft logo and a cute colored trim, in a smooth fabric.
When I opened the door there was a mysterious spotlight on the floor, so I put the slippers there, lol

On the right is a luggage rack. The drawers hold the safe and loungewear.

Right next to it are a full-length mirror and the vanity, so this is where you get ready.

Next to the vanity is the shower room, and its light switches on and off separately from the toilet and vanity.

The amenities are from "Pharmacopia." They have a fresh, citrusy scent that I think most people would like. There were also alcohol sanitizing wipes.

The bed is beyond the vanity. It's a very large bed with reading lights.

Across from the bed is a big TV. You can watch Netflix and so on.
Also, the space under the bed is lit up, which makes a really nice atmosphere!
You don't often see lights in that spot. These days some beds have long legs, like a raised platform, so you can store luggage underneath. Staying night after night at Marriott Bonvoy hotels dulls your senses little by little, but seeing stylish lighting like this makes me feel I'm staying at a good hotel, lol

The desk by the bedside had a clock, a notepad, and information about in-room dining.

Beyond the bed there's a sofa and a table, so you can get a bit of work done here.
There was also a QR code on the table for viewing the in-room dining menu.

The refrigerator is a quiet type. There's a De'Longhi electric kettle, brightly colored mugs, mineral water, and more.
As at Aloft Osaka, there are paper coffee cups too, so you can take coffee with you when you head out from Aloft!
The window is a little small for the size of the room. The view is of buildings, as you'd expect in central Tokyo, but the building opposite is some distance away so it doesn't feel oppressive.

The window has two coverings, a thin roller shade and a curtain that blocks 100% of the light, so no light came in at all and I slept soundly!
Who Aloft Tokyo Ginza is good for
The best thing about Aloft Tokyo Ginza is its location. Ginza is right at your doorstep, so it's a handy hotel for people visiting Tokyo for sightseeing or with business in the Ginza area.
With the video playing on the lobby display and the projection mapping in the elevator hall, you can enjoy edgy art just by being inside the hotel. I think especially visitors from overseas will get a sense of futuristic city TOKYO! It also seems like a hit with kids!
Aloft Tokyo Ginza offers interior design and lighting you rarely find at other hotels, so please do stay once!
