Lunch at Bar e Ristorante Tablier, Ginza
Translated from my original Japanese post (2020). 日本語の原文を読む →
Salut! It's Yoko, your food blogger.
I found an Italian place with insanely good lunch value...
It's Bar e Ristorante Tablier in Ginza.
The reviews on Google Maps and Retty made it look delicious, and then I spotted a comment saying
it's so popular you have to dash there by 12:00 to get in,
so I knew I had to go.
Bar e Ristorante Tablier
The restaurant is near Ginza Matsuya.
Look for this sign. Check that "Tablier" is written near the bottom of it, then head inside.

Even while I was taking photos, one woman dining solo after another seemed to get drawn in...
Tablier is in the basement, so you open the door of the shop inside the building and go down the stairs.

At the bottom, someone was already sitting on the waiting chairs.
It was 12:50 on a weekday, and the place was full with two parties waiting!
Lunch menu at Bar e Ristorante Tablier

They handed me a menu, so I decided what to order while I waited.
The dining room is fairly quiet, and everyone was taking their time over their meals.

After about five minutes, I was shown to a table.
I chose the pasta lunch (¥1,000).
Besides the pasta, it comes with soup, salad and a café drink (you can choose juice instead), which is ridiculously good value.
The soup arrived right after I ordered.
Corn soup

It's smooth, with little bits of corn, and really tasty.
Salad of roast chicken and new onions

I love carrot dressing, so I was happy.
And with chicken in it, it feels like such a bargain.
When does a lunch-set salad ever come with chicken?
By the way, apparently you can swap in a quiche or a terrine of free-range chicken and foie gras (!) for a limited six servings.
People must be lining up before it opens...
Baguette with olive oil, cranberry and apple juice

The baguette is gently warm, and the olive oil has a little salt in it.
There were 11 café drinks to choose from (13 if you count hot or iced),
and I went with juice. The tartness of the cranberry kept it from being too sweet with the meal, and it was delicious!
It even came with a cinnamon cookie on the side. Perfect.
And here's the main I ordered.
It's an extra ¥200, but it said Tablier's popular pasta, so I went for it.
For another ¥200, you can switch to handmade tagliatelle.
Snow crab in tomato cream sauce with crab miso (+¥200)

Crab tomato cream pasta is a classic and you see it all the time,
but sometimes there's no crab meat at all, just the flavor.
This one has real crab meat!
And when you lift the pasta with your fork, the scent of crab wafts up.
It goes perfectly with the rich tomato cream, a luxurious pasta.
The staff must have been busy with a full house, but they moved gracefully and smiled warmly, which was so soothing.
Totally full, I went to pay.
I asked on the off chance whether they take cards, and they do, which made me happy.
Tablier's hospitality filled both my stomach and my heart.
It really is a great lunch in Ginza!
It's already super popular, so I don't want it to get any more crowded, lol.
