Alpha Beta Coffee Club, Jiyugaoka

Translated from my original Japanese post (2020). 日本語の原文を読む →

Salut! It's Yoko, your food blogger.

In Jiyugaoka, a neighborhood packed with cafes, I found one I'd honestly rather not tell anyone about.

- Stylish
- Wi-Fi
- Terrace seating

It ticks all three boxes: ALPHA BETA COFFEE CLUB.

ALPHA BETA COFFEE CLUB

ALPHA BETA COFFEE CLUB is on the 4th floor of the building with Carl's Jr., which you reach by crossing the rotary at Jiyugaoka Station's main exit and turning right at Hachinoie.

It's close to the station, but since it's inside a building, it's a bit of a hidden gem.

I hear the owner is a former Google employee.

Look at this interior. A big counter sits right in the middle, comfortable for people who came to work.

Along the wall there are table seats.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but outside there's a wooden deck with terrace seating.

It's so chic I half expected it to be a set from Terrace House.

If someone brought you here on a date, it would be a guaranteed hit.

Not that I'm on a date. I came here to work...

When I went looking for the Wi-Fi password, I found a framed sign behind the counter

"NEED WIFI? 'BUTFIRSTCOFEE' LOWERCASE"
(In other words, the password is butfirstcofee in lowercase.)

"BUT FIRST COFFEE" suits a cafe and it's easy to remember.
Isn't both the way the password is displayed and the password itself almost too stylish?

The two women at the next table were chatting in a mix of Japanese and English, too.

And my cafe latte arrived beautifully made.

The foam is silky and delicious!

The terrace at ALPHA BETA COFFEE CLUB

On another day I tried the terrace.

It was freezing! Probably because it was still daytime, the heating wasn't on, lol

My hands were shaking as I held my latte, lol

There were blankets, so I wrapped myself up and drank it that way.

By the way, it seems hard to tell whose order is whose when you sit outside, and a few people got forgotten, so it's best to go pick up your drink yourself.

Next to the register they also sell kombucha and craft beer,
and there's original ALPHA BETA COFFEE CLUB merch like T-shirts and cups.

If you want to sink into a stylish space and relax, if you're looking for a cafe with Wi-Fi,

or if you just want a nice cafe in Jiyugaoka, do give it a try.

(I hope it doesn't get too popular, lol)
